What is Abdominal Pain?

Everyone experiences abdominal pain once in their life. Terms used to describe abdominal pain are tummy ache, stomach ache, gut ache, and bellyache. Most causes of abdominal pain aren’t reasons to worry, and can easily be diagnosed. But sometimes it can be a sign of a serious illness that needs medical attention.

Abdominal pain can be mild or severe or it may be constant or come and go. Short-term abdominal pain is called acute and it may occur over weeks, months, or years also known as chronic.

Ayurveda defines abdominal pain as an imbalance of three doshas Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Ayurvedic treatment for abdominal pain uses natural ways to treat the root cause and bring those doshas back into balance.
