What is Cervical Spondylosis?
Cervical spondylosis or Grivasandhigatvata is the condition of wear and tear of cervical vertebrae in the body. It majorly affects the cartilage, ligaments, disk, and bones of the cervical region of the spine. This region consists of 7 vertebrae beginning from the base of the skull till the thoracic vertebrae labeled as C1, C2, C3 to C7. It is a degenerative disease, generally experienced by people of adult age i.e. 30 years or above. Patients usually undergo pain, stiffness, and headache in the neck where the phenomenon relates to the breaking down of the spine, fluid and volume loss, thickened ligaments, compressed disks, and spur formation of bones. The condition is invited by humans themselves as a sedentary lifestyle, wrong posture, and prolonged sitting in the same position results in degeneration of the cervical bones. It is always advisable to treat the disease before it becomes chronic and for this purpose treatment of cervical spondylosis with Ayurveda will be the best choice.
